Ukraine Launches Attack on Russian Oil Port

Now Trump Is Urging Peace Between the Two Countries

Ukraine has struck an oil port within Russia. This is part of a series of attack on Russian oil ports. Now U.S. President Donald Trump is pushing for a peace deal between the two countries.

The attack had caused infrastructure damage and ignited a blaze compared to the strikes on Kyiv. Then in response to Ukraine`s attacks, Russia had struck their own residential buildings.

According to Newsweek, “Images and videos showed heavy smoke billowing from fires after Ukraine hit a major oil terminal in the seaport of Novorossiysk during its large-scale drone attack on Russia overnight into Friday. Russia said the situation is under control.”

Moreover, this is their second attack at an oil terminal as last month they struck Russian controlled Crimea at the largest oil storage facility supplying Russian forces, that can hold up to 250,000 tons of fuel.

It was also reported that they had struck last year in October. Russia declared state of emergency when Feodoisa oil deport was struck back in Oct. 2024.

This has resulted in Russian fuel shortages and price rises. It affects the daily lives of Russians as there are long lines at the petrol stations and garages suspending operations due to the crisis.

Now it is risking jet fuel within Russia. “Russia may soon face turbulence in its jet fuel market following months of disruption in gasoline supplies caused by Ukrainian drone strikes, an executive at the country’s largest private fuel supplier warned in comments to the RBC news website,” The Moscow Times reports.

With Russia`s fuel shortages, it is starting to affect other countries such as Tajikistan which their government has depended on Russian oil. Now the Tajik government has to find other sources to prevent a further fuel crisis.

Ukraine`s deep-strike campaign has destroyed 38% of Russia`s refining capacity after they targeted Russian Infrastructure. Now the Kremlin is having to suspend fuel efforts.

Now this further calls for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Even with a few disagreement issues, President Trump seems to be optimistic about ending the three year war and plans on meeting with President Volodymir Zelenskyy of Ukraine and President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

Their foreign minister claims they could reject propositions from the U.S. because they have different terms from the U.S. making it hard for an understanding for peace.

Ukraine had agreed to a peace proposal but details are still being worked out.
